a mix that i dedicated to my high school friends.

back when
it was about meeting in the quad for lunch, before school,
before volleyball practice
when we wrote on book covers
and shared lockers.

when i would watch my girls cry over boys
say they learned their lesson
and keep loving the boy,
that made her cry.
(this of course, works for both genders)

when best friends became family.
18th birthday parties
school dances
football games
round table pizza
red roses

this mix had me remembering high school.
