when it rains...

...the music pours. At least, that's what it was doing on the long commute deeper into the east bay. I have some work to take care of tonight. The curriculum building continues. First, I have to do some ironing after I post this. My big girl clothes (aka professional attire) need some pressing and I have laundry going. I'm ritualistic about having clean clothes. I mean--there is less to rotate with right now so the loads are smaller, but it gets done regardless. Doing laundry has always been very meditative for me. I swear, I'll do my own and other people's. Fabric softer. Fold. Hang dry, Flat dry. Iron. Oh yes, especially ironing. Whatever it is. I even fold. Talk about domesticated, right? Talk about gender roles confirmed, right? Nooooooo, I don't think it's that simple. I use these activities as meditations and I truly enjoy doing it. I have a close friend who made a bet with me a year ago, and I lost. What did he win? Me folding his laundry for three months. I actually still owe him one more load. Who do you think "won"? ::wink::

Before I get to my to do list for the night, here is a song I heard on the drive. Alicia did it again.

Doesnt Mean Anything - Alicia Keys
